ABOUT

Addie Camsuzou (b. 1994) is a composer and violinist from the central coast of California. She derives most of her musical inspiration from the natural world and looks to find the magic in it - magic that is made only more vivid with scientific explanation. She received her PhD in Music Composition from the University of California, Davis, where she studied music composition with Laurie San Martin, Mika Pelo, Sam Nichols, and Kurt Rhode, and completed her dissertation with Dr San Martin. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Sacramento State University; while there, she studied music composition with Dr. Stephen Blumberg, and violin with Anna Presler and Ian Swensen. She is grateful to the many musicians and ensembles who have brought her music to life through commissions, which include the Empyrean Ensemble, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, Citywater, Earplay, Anna Presler, Ellen Ruth Rose and Sooyeon Lyuh.
